Namutami Kabayi is a Programmes Assistant at Chapter One Foundation and she brings a wealth of expertise and a deep commitment to human rights advocacy to our team. With an LLB and a Bachelor of Business Degree with a double major in Economics and Management, as well as an International Leadership Training Certificate in Sustainable Local and Regional Economic Development and Trade Promotion, her educational background forms a robust foundation for her work in the legal and human rights spheres.

Biography

With over 5 years of legal experience, Namutami has honed her skills and expertise through diverse roles in organizations championing children’s rights, women’s rights, and broader human rights causes. Her journey in the legal field has seen her advocate for some of the most vulnerable members of society, including children in conflict with the law and women in need of legal assistance. Her role at Chapter One Foundation has seen her conduct legal workshops for human rights defenders across Zambia, facilitate a legal clinic in a high-density area, plan and coordinate side events during the Summit of Democracy in 2023 held in Lusaka, make submissions to Parliament on behalf of the organisation to bring about legal reforms, and many other tasks that have advanced the work of the organisation.

Namutami’s multifaceted background, coupled with her passion for justice and equality, makes her an indispensable asset to our team. Her dedication to upholding the principles of fairness and accountability resonates throughout her work, embodying the ethos of Chapter One Foundation as we strive to create positive change and advance human rights in Zambia and beyond.
