Chapter One Foundation - Programmatic Areas.
Chapter One Foundation promotes and protects human rights constitutionalism, the Rule of Law and Social Justice in Zambia. In partnership with several stake holders, we run engaging programmes that aim to archive our goals the following are our Programmatic Areas.
Human rights are the basic rights and freedoms that belong to every person, they apply regardless of where you are from, what you believe or how you choose to live your life. They can never be taken away, although they can sometimes be restricted.

Constitutionalism is a political philosophy based on the idea that government authority is derived from the people and should be limited by a constitution that clearly expresses what the government can and can’t do. It’s the idea that the state is not free to do anything it wants, but is bound by laws limited its authority.
The UN defines rule of law as a principle of governance in which all persons, institutions and entities are accountable to laws that are publicly promulgated, equally enforced and independently adjudicated, and which are consistent with international human rights norms and standards.
This is a Strategic litigation that is taken in order to advance a “good cause” or issue of public importance. This means litigation that seeks to precipitate social change through court-ordered decrees that reform legal rules, enforce existing laws, and articulate public norms .
Civic education (also known as citizen education or democracy education) can be broadly defined as the provision of information and learning experiences to equip and empower citizens to participate in democratic processes.
