Human Rights
Human rights are the basic rights and freedoms that belong to every person, they apply regardless of where you are from, what you believe or how you choose to live your life. They can never be taken away, although they can sometimes be restricted.
Constitutionalism
is a political philosophy based on the idea that government authority is derived from the people and should be limited by a constitution that clearly expresseswhat the government can and can’t do. It’s the idea that the state is not free to do anything it wants, but is bound by laws limited its authority.
Human Rights Defenders
Human Rights Defenders are people who act peacefully in defence of human rights. They are individuals and groups challenging all discriminations, working to advance fundamental rights and create more just and inclusive societies.
Rule of Law
The United Nations defines rule of law as a principle of governance in which all persons, institutions and entities, public and private, including the State itself, are accountable to laws that are publicly promulgated, equally enforced and independently adjudicated, and which are consistent with international human rights norms and standards
Civic Education
Civic education (also known as citizen education or democracy education) can be broadly defined as the provision of information and learning experiences to equip and empower citizens to participate in democratic processes.
Strategic Public Interest Litigation
This is litigation that is taken in order to advance a “good cause” or issue of public importance. This means litigation that seeks to precipitate social change through court-ordered decrees that reform legal rules, enforce existing laws, and articulate public norms.
